Rainforest Action Networks wanted to deepen supporter engagement across multiple communication channels, without making their forms overwhelming or repetitive for donors who were already subscribed. We built the Opt-in Ladder—a smart, dynamic add-on for ENgrid thank-you pages that detects which marketing channels a supporter is not yet subscribed to, then invites them—one at a time—to opt in. In their end-of-year campaign, RAN tested it on a single donation page. From that small trial, they saw that 10% of donors interacted with the experience and engaged donors opted into an average of 2 additional channels.
